Residency: Valencia 09
28 May – 27 June 2014
Amy Cameron (Scotland), is a visual artist born in the Scottish Highlands, currently living and working in Edinburgh. In 2011 she graduated with a BA(Hons) degree in painting from Grays School of Art in Aberdeen, and since graduating she has been creating new work and exhibiting widely across the UK as well as working as a gallery assistant at the prestigious Royal Scottish Academy.
Cameron’s work looks at themes of memory, history and identity. Working in layers, she uses a mixture of media to create fragmented growing pieces where images and words appear and disappear like the layers of a distant memory. Text plays an important role in her work. Memory is all about storytelling and Cameron incorporates this in the form of confessional writing, diary extracts and poetry.
